Local MEP Graham Watson to meet President Sarkozy

Graham Watson MEP, for South West England and Gibraltar and Leader of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe will be meeting Nicolas Sarkozy, the President of the French Republic at noon on Thursday 10 April at the Elysée Palace. They will discuss the effects of the Lisbon Treaty and UK-French relations on security, defence and immigration in preparation for the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union commencing this July.

Commenting on this meeting, Graham Watson said:

"I am pleased to be meeting President Sarkozy ahead of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union this summer. It will be good to discuss in greater depth his agenda for France's Presidency and consider the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty and its effects."
