Watson hopes to discover future MEPs at Pilton Community College1.59.00pm GMT Tue 2nd Mar 2010
Year 10 pupils at Pilton Community College will find out if they have got what it takes to be an MEP on Thursday (4 March), when Lib Dem Euro-MP Graham Watson leads an "Inspire Workshop" at the school. A whole series of workshops have been held since September, and it is hoped that mentors will encourage the students to aim high and achieve their full potential. Watson is a trained interpreter, speaking four languages, and led the trans-national Liberal Group in the European Parliament for seven and a half years. Looking forward to the event he commented; "With hard work and open minds, these pupils can go wherever they want to go, and be whoever they want to be. "I'm not sure how many will have a burning desire to be a politician, but the world is truly their oyster! I hope to get this message across."
