It is a common misconception that the EU gets involved in all areas of public policy, even though its reach is strictly limited by European Treaties.

However, Graham is still able to help constituents with a number of different problems ranging from cross-border healthcare, to property purchased abroad, to simply informing them of their rights as Euroepan citizens; in an average year, Graham will work on around 3,000 cases.

He is able to lobby UK and European governments and organisations, and use his role as an MEP to get things done in Brussels. To see some examples of Graham's casework success, follow the link below;

Visits

Graham represents the South West of England constituency, which runs from the Cotswolds in the north east corner, down to Bournemouth, all the way along to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and also includes Gibraltar!

He tends to spend Monday to Thursday in Brussels or Strasbourg, but tries to dedicate Friday and Saturday to travelling in the constituency meeting constituents, businesses and organisations, and schools.

Keeping us "in the know"

A Eurobarometer survey conducted in July 2009 indicated that 83% of British people feel they know little or nothing about the EU. Graham believes that in a democracy, this is not good enough. He is therefore committed to getting information about the EU out to the public.
